Cabo San Lucas marlin providing fast action and interesting photo ops

February 6, 2009 |  1:10 pm

Outposts recently reported that marlin fishing off Cabo San Lucas remains outstanding, but Pisces Sportfishing shared a few new photos and I wanted to post the most interesting one: showing an airborne marlin, an angler on another boat who is not hooked up, and a pelican looking for food.

(The hooked marlin was being caught aboard a different boat -- the Tracy Ann -- than the one in the photo.)

It warrants repeating though: If you've never caught a marlin and would like to do so at least once, catch a flight to Cabo ASAP and board a boat bound for the Golden Gate Bank. Tracy Ehrenberg, who owns Pisces, reports that 92% of her charters caught and released marlin during the past week.

That's a high percentage that can't last much longer, although I've been thinking that for weeks.
