The Chinese pair of Qing Pang and Jian Tong (he wears the best ponytail of the pair) skated their free-skating program Wednesday night to a tango selection by Gotan Project. It was the same music that Alicia Sacramone did her floor exercise program to this past Olympic season.

Having watched the program at least a dozen times during the course of training camps, U.S. nationals, Olympic trials and the Olympics, I felt as if I could do every one of Sacramone’s twists and tumbles and dance wiggles. The memory of the exact beat where she landed her floor pass out of bounds in Beijing is still vivid. It’s funny how music sticks in your head and gymnastics routines do too.
