The late, great New York Yankees broadcaster Phil Rizzuto was known for letting his attention wander during games and missing plays. His scorecard would be filled with the notation WW — wasn’t watching.

At the World Figure Skating Championships, we’re all paying attention in the press seating area at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The problem is that an extended platform built for international broadcasters blocks our view of the corners, where many skaters perform their lutz jumps because they get the most room for a long takeoff and landing.

So the notation here will be CS — couldn’t see. At least until we can see the monitors for replays.
