The Twitter page of Bethany Cosentino, frontwoman of highly buzzed about local band Best Coast, is a constant series of obvious but on-point axioms. In the last week, she’s revealed that ‘Seinfeld cures everything,’ ‘moms give the best advice’ and that ‘girls in Sweden = the biggest babes ever.’ But yesterday, she disclosed something that most people didn’t know: the title and details of her debut album.

Following a trail of touted EPs and 7-inches, the band will release ‘Crazy for You’ on nascent indie powerhouse Mexican Summer on July 27 -- right in time for the scorching sun of beach season. Promising a compromise between the raw lo-fi sound of her early work and a more burnished studio sheen, the album figures to deliver on the band’s already fully-formed aesthetic: a reconciliation of ‘60s girl-group pop with riot grrl guitars, swooning lyrical valentines to absentee boyfriends, and frequent references to weed, the West Coast, cats and television.

Or, as Consentino’s Twitter explained the Best Coast gestalt: ‘if i had chain, it would be [my cat] Snacks, smoking a joint, wearing a Lakers jersey made of diamonds.’ Which would probably make for something that could rival Gucci Mane -- this is a De Beers sponsorship just waiting to happen.
