No Doubt to wrap tour its comeback tour in Irvine

February 25, 2009 |  6:42 am

Southern California quartet No Doubt will conclude its first tour in five years with a two-night stay at Irvine's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre beginning July 31. Tickets will go on sale March 7 for the Live Nation-produced tour, with a "tour club" pre-sale for most dates beginning Feb. 26.

Locals who want to see the return of No Doubt sooner than the end of July can take a pair of mini road trips in late May. No Doubt will play the Save Mart Center in Fresno on May 19, as well as the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield on May 20 and the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in San Diego on May 22. The tour officially begins on May 16 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Earlier, No Doubt will partake in the multi-act Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey.

The No Doubt website notes that memberships in the band's tour club are limited per market. For a $15 fee, fans are promised "access to purchase up to four prime tickets." Those who don't win the right to buy a tour-club membership can try to score some of the budget-priced $10 and $25 tickets, which will be available at "select amphitheaters throughout the tour." No Doubt's site doesn't specify which.

The band announced the tour via a video posted on its website. The band said the clip was filmed in a recording studio, and though No Doubt has hinted at working on a new album, nothing was announced today. In the short video, Stefani even says, "We’re not even going to do a record. We’re just going to go on tour and have fun. We know that  if we see you guys, we’re going to get really inspired to make music."

The act's last full-length tour was 2001's "Rock Steady." Click here for a full list of tour dates.
