Think you know the 84th annual Academy Awards contenders in all their incarnations? Think again.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Meryl Steep and a number of other Oscar nominees received the editorial cartoon treatment on the Los Angeles Times’ annual Oscar Sunday Calendar cover. Illustrator Chris Morris paid tribute to this year’s honorees with black and white portraits that capture their essence while still leaving room for guesswork.
