EXCLUSIVE: Back in early September we wrote about ‘We’re the Millers,’ a pot comedy making a bid to be the new ‘Pineapple Express.’

The film had an appealing premise and counterintuitive central character (an ambitious pot dealer), and came from a pair of writers with comic bona fides from ‘The Sarah Silverman Show.’

At the time a few directors were being eyed. Now producers have settled on who will be taking that job: the raunch-comedy duo of Sean Anders and John Morris. (The job had been down to them and ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ director Burr Steers, with the more comedically pedigreed writers landing the gig.)

Anders and Morris wrote ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ and ‘She’s Out of My League,’ and wrote and directed the road-trip comedy ‘Sex Drive,’ to give you a sense of their bent.

‘Millers’ involves a veteran pot dealer coming up with a scheme to create a fake family to move a large shipment of marijuana across the U.S. border from Mexico. With pot legalization and the Mexican drug wars very much in the news, this may be one of the more topical raunchy comedies out there...
