Preview review: 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' teaser

March 10, 2010 |  2:13 pm

Twilight We know the "Twilight" craze is huge, but somehow we were still shocked Wednesday when the Internet began buzzing about a new trailer for the highly anticipated upcoming installment in the "Twilight" series: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." We logged on to YouTube to see what all the fuss was about, and discovered a mere 10 coveted seconds from the film, out in June.

In the film, Bella (played, of course, by Kristen Stewart) must again choose between the love she has for hunky vampire Edward (Rob Pattinson) or her friendship for the newly buffed-up werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

The tiny clip emphasizes this eternal struggle well, beginning with Edward and Bella embracing in a flower-filled field. Cut to the embattled lovers lying face to face, as Edward tells Bella: "I know the consequences of the choice you're making."

I know tweens love this stuff, but for anyone else, the dialogue comes across as painfully cheesy.

Then there's Jacob standing on the rocky cliffs above a forest, and he's -- gasp! -- shirtless. "I'm gonna fight for you, until your heart stops beating," he tells Bella, who speaks no words throughout the entire clip though conveys a world of emotion through the tortured angst resonating on her face.

It's a look similar to the one we saw on stage at the Oscars this past weekend, as Stewart presented a montage of horror films alongside Lauter, looking herself quite horrified.

Our real question is: Twi-hards, was this teaser really enough to hold you until the film comes out in June, or are you anxious for more? Vote in our poll.

We dont have to wait that long!!!! They have announced that the official trailer will be played in the start up credits before Robert pattinsons new movie "remember me" which came out in cinemas today.....At least we will get a bit more of a tease until the actual movie comes out..

i honestly hated hated hated IT!! hated the 10 sec thing....absolutely despised it! it wasn't good at all...i just hope the trailer tomorrow is way better than this...i was beyond disappointed

it would be nice if they could just show the full trailer of eclipse instead of just 10 secs.

This trailer snipment was visually good. The backgrounds look amazing and will probably be the highlight of the film. Although, the acting was average. Pattinson's line was conveyed with more emotion then Lautner's partially due to more realistic speaking. Stewart's acting was pitiful as usual though she did improve in New Moon and hopefully Eclipse. Also that last clip showcased Bella's awful hair wig. Hopefully that was just the angle or a glitch in the costume department.

Who cares how cheesy Twilight is. Kristen looks hot and let's be honest nothing could save the script, the books were average at best. She's an actress not a magician.

I don't like the 10 second thing...but that's why its a teaser! But fear not, the full length trailor will be available both before Rob's new movie, Remember Me....and for those who don't have the chance or who aren't interested, it will also be on YouTube Friday around 9am ET. So, enjoy!!!

i love this god im i love with this

Ome ome ome can't wait for eclipse soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited can't wait yay yay I'm actually crying

I love the entire twilight saga and the buzz that surrounds it, and yes this may only be 10 seconds but the trailer for Eclipse is supposed to be premiering with the showing of Robert Pattinsons new movie Remember Me on March 12th :) SO, if this wasn't enough for anyone, then that should be :)

omg this is so great i can't wait til the movie is out.
