Video: Is there even a race for the supporting actor and actress Oscars?

Conventional wisdom seems to say there’s a lock on the races for supporting actor and supporting actress. And you won’t find an argument from Los Angeles Times film critic Kenneth Turan and film writer John Horn.

We won’t know for sure until March 7 whether Christoph Waltz of “Inglourious Basterds” and Mo’Nique of “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” will take the statuettes. But Turan and Horn are confident.

Still, there were a few surprises on the nominees list -- particularly on the lead actress side. And, of course, there are always omissions. Hear what Turan and Horn have to say about the academy’s picks.
