Freelance writer Zohreen Adamjee recently caught up with Alan Greenberg, a former chief executive and chairman of Bear Stearns and author of the recently published ‘The Rise and Fall of Bear Stearns.’ Greenberg occupied at least one of the top spots at Bear for more than two decades until he stepped down in 2001, about seven years before the firm’s collapse in the early months of the financial crisis. Adamjee asked Greenberg, now an executive at JPMorgan Chase & Co., whether he felt responsible for Bear’s fate -- and about Jimmy Cayne, his successor as chairman and CEO.
