Big vote coming. Bankers and politicians are preparing for a final Senate vote on the financial reform bill, perhaps as soon as this week. The bill has been toughened up over the last few months.

Wall Street donations. As Congress prepares to vote on financial reform, members of Congress are holding fundraisers, collecting money from Wall Street nearly every day.

GM in the black. For the first time in over two years GM posted a profit, and a healthy one, after emerging from bankruptcy in July with government help.
