An Anaheim company is recalling 28,470 pounds of frozen sausage products because they were inadvertently packaged with an incorrect label and may contain undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. Pampanga Food Corp. is recalling the frozen skinless sausage cooked cured pork longanisa because it may contain anchovies and/or sardines, the department’s food safety and inspection service announced today. Anchovies and sardines, known potential allergens, are not declared on the label.

The sausage products were produced from Jan. 7 to Sept. 22 this year, and distributed to retail stores nationwide. The problem was discovered by the USDA during a routine product check.

As of today, the department has not received any reports of illness. But it urges consumers who are concerned about an allergic reaction to contact a physician. Questions regarding the recall should be directed to Reynaldo Reyes, Pampanga’s president, at (714) 773-0537.
