The Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau and Film Commission wants visitors to know that the area popularly known as the American Riviera can also be affordable for the average Joe.

So the organization devised a savings program called Compliments of Santa Barbara that includes free activities in the region, as well as perks and upgrades at nearly 30 hotels, restaurants, attractions and events through Sept. 30. An online guide provides details of the offers.
