A number of people were killed Sunday night and more than two dozen transported to local hospitals when a tour bus overturned on California 38 near Yucaipa, authorities said.

The cause of the accident, which occurred just after 6:30 p.m., was unknown. Officials said a number of people were ejected from the bus when it overturned on a narrow mountain road leading to Big Bear. Twenty-seven people were transported to local hospitals in addition to the dead, including some in critical condition.
