Maywood man shot dead at bus stop

A man shot dead on Valentine’s Day in Maywood was 51 years old and seated at a bus stop when he was killed, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said Friday.

Authorities have released few details, saying only that the man was killed in the 3700 block of Slauson Avenue at about 8:20 p.m Thursday.

Deputies responding to a report of gunshots found the victim unresponsive on the bench. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No details of the suspect or suspects was immediately available.
