Two people were found shot to death inside a car at an parking garage at an Irvine condominium Sunday night, authorities said.

Irvine police Lt. Julia Engen told KTLA that officers were called to the garage, located at the intersection of Scholarship and Diploma, after a passerby noticed a man slumped over in the seat of the car. When police arrived, they determined that the man was dead from an apparent gunshot wound, as was a woman inside the car.

Investigators were still working to determine a motive in the case, Engen said Monday morning, adding that police had not heard from any potential witnesses and did not receive a 911 call about the gunshots.

Coroner’s officials were working to identify the victims, whom Engen said appeared to be in their 20s.
