L.A. County authorities on Sunday night had yet to identify a 24-year-old Long Beach man who was shot and killed in a mobile home park over the weekend.

Long Beach police said preliminary information suggests the shooting occurred after three men and a woman went into a home in the park in the 6400 block of Atlantic Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Two people -- a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old resident -- were hit in the chest by gunfire and the suspects fled in a vehicle, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department.

The two shooting victims also tried to run from the scene, according to police, but were quickly found by officers and taken to a hospital. The 24-year-old man was pronounced dead on arrival and the 28-year-old did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, police said.

Long Beach police said they are unsure of what prompted the shooting and that the investigation is ongoing.
