Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Hollister, Calif.

A shallow, magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Saturday afternoon seven miles from Tres Pinos, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 3:05 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 11 miles from Hollister, 14 miles from Chualar and 54 miles from San Jose City Hall.

In the last 10 days, there have been no other earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
