Incoming flights were arriving on a different runway, said Ian Gregor, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Los Angeles.

The airport said that some airlines, depending on their respective operating procedures, may choose not to depart from the airport until the lights are fixed.

‘If you are planning on flying out of Bob Hope Airport, please contact your airline before coming to the airport,’ the airport said on its website.

No other details were immediately available.
