Pasadena police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred Saturday night in an alleyway between Colorado Boulevard and Holly Street in Old Pasadena.

The victim was walking alone after leaving a restaurant in the area when she was approached from behind and forcibly taken to Legge Alley about 11:30 p.m., according to police.

Police describe her attacker as a man in his late 30s or 40s who was wearing dark clothing and stood about 5 feet 8.

Pasadena police Lt. Tracey Ibarra said detectives were searching for security video footage that might have captured the attack and are asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area to call police.

Witnesses "may have seen something without knowing exactly what they were seeing," said Ibarra.

Anyone with information related to the assault can contact Det. Schuyler Sandeen at (626) 744-7099 or ssandeen@cityofpasadena.net.

To report information anonymously, call (800) 222-TIPS.
