It's Taser vs. golf club as robbers, jewelry store owner scuffle
Two would-be robbers armed with a stun gun were chased off by a golf club-swinging jewelry store owner in Garden Grove — but not before they tased the man in the neck.
The pair walked into the C&S Masterpiece Jewelry store about 3 p.m. Wednesday and were talking to the owner about a piece of jewelry when one of the suspects pulled out a Taser, Garden Grove police Lt. Robert Fowler told KTLA-TV.
The owner said he ran back to a storage room, where he activated an emergency alarm. But the suspects followed and a scuffle ensued, at which point the owner grabbed a golf club and began swinging.
The suspects ran out of the store and into a Honda Civic outside. Police are still looking for the men, along with the driver of the car.
The car, which police said was reported stolen in Santa Ana, is a white, two-door 1994 Honda Civic with California license plate 6JSN612.
Last month, a 65-year-old woman chased five robbery suspects out of her Garden Grove jewelry store by firing shots at the men, who were also armed with handguns.
