Orange County woman missing in Panama; FBI investigating

An Orange County woman who moved to Panama last year has been missing for five months, and the FBI is investigating her disappearance.

Yvonne Baldelli, 42, was last seen Nov. 26 on Carenero Island in Panama's Bocas del Toro province, according to a Facebook page set up by her family.

Authorities in Panama have said Baldelli's boyfriend, Brian Brimager, a retired U.S. Marine, is the primary person being investigated in the case.

Brimager and Baldelli moved to Panama together last September and struggled with a difficult relationship, according to Panamanian authorities. Brimager reportedly told people Baldelli left him, and he moved back to Southern California.

Within weeks of returning to the U.S., the former Marine married another woman, Kristin Werkhoven, on Dec. 31.

"The guy was gone for a couple months, but then all of a sudden he returned," Brimager's neighbor, Bumoo Kim, told KTLA News.

Baldelli arrived in Panama last September from Laguna Niguel and traveled to Carenero Island on the Caribbean coast with plans to open a store that would sell clothing to tourists, KTLA reported, citing Panama's La Prensa newspaper.
