Metrolink train kills pedestrian in Ventura County

A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian in Ventura County, officials said Monday night.

Train 123 struck the victim between the Simi Valley and Moorpark stations, Metrolink said on its Twitter account.

After the accident, the transit agency said the train was halted until shortly before 9 p.m., when it was released and expected to make all its stops.

It was not immediately clear Monday night what caused the accident. Officials did not release details on the victim.
