March 18, 2012 |  7:50 am

A man was struck and killed by a tour bus on the northbound 5 Freeway in Los Angeles early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred just before 2 a.m. south of downtown. The man was standing on the freeway when he was hit by the bus, said CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.

"A pedestrian standing in front of bus -- not a good thing," Jacobs said.

The highway patrol is continuing to investigate the accident. The man's name was not released.
