4-year-old found hanging in closet is identified

March 10, 2012 |  9:42 am

A 4-year-old girl found hanging in a closet in her family’s Westchester home has been identified.

Police do not believe that foul play was involved in the death of Miriah Cobb, who was found by family members Thursday. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Coroner’s officials on Saturday confirmed Cobb’s identity.

A neighbor told KTLA that family members attempted to revive the girl, coached by a 911 operator.

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Abused Child Unit are investigating the case.
