Young, 52, whose credits include “Blade Runner,” “Ace Ventura” and “Wall Street,” was placed under citizen’s arrest and taken to the Hollywood division of the Los Angeles Police Department, according to Officer Wendy Reyes.

The arrest took place around 10:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Highland Avenue, which includes the Hollywood and Highland Center, the site of the Oscars and the Governor's Ball after-party.

Young was involved in “some type of physical altercation,” and was taken into custody by the person she was fighting with, police said.

Police sources said it was a security guard at the ball who placed Young on citizen's arrest. The sources said Young was one of 10 people arrested in connection with Sunday night's awards ceremony. Of those arrested, charges included trespassing, robbery and forgery, related to fake credentials.

Young was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and released on $20,000 bail around 3 a.m., according to jail records. She is due to appear in court March 19.

Young has previously entered treatment for alcoholism following an outburst at the Directors Guild of America awards in Century City in 2008. A statement from press representatives at the time said the actress had “struggled against the disease for many years.”

Police did not immediately say whether Young was under the influence Sunday night.
