2-year-old Lucerne Valley boy dies from traumatic injuries

A 2-year-old boy from Lucerne Valley died from traumatic injuries after deputies were called to his house Thursday night, officials said.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the 9000 block of Anza Trail at 10:06 p.m. and took the boy, Damian Negrete, to St. Mary Medical Center.

He was then flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died at 1:25 a.m. Friday morning, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

An autopsy will be done to determine cause of death. No other details were available at this time.
