$1 million in jewelry reported stolen at Sherman Oaks mall

Robbers stole an estimated $1 million in jewelry that was being delivered to a store inside the Westfield Sherman Oaks shopping mall Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating the robbery, which occurred as a vehicle was making a delivery to a jewelry store. The robbery occurred outside the mall, police said, and the thieves got away.

There was no description immediately available of the suspects or their getaway car.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
