Teen shot to death in alley near Whittier
Detectives on Friday were investigating the shooting death of a teenager in an alley in unincorporated Whittier.
Deputies discovered the 17-year-old in the alley about 10:16 p.m. Thursday in the 8300 block of Norwalk Boulevard after responding to a call about a gunshot victim, Deputy Benjamin Grubb of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
The teen was shot once in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene, Grubb said.
Detectives are looking for a suspect leaving the scene in a dark gray compact vehicle, Grubb said. No weapon had been recovered.
