Crime alerts for Porter Ranch and four other L.A. neighborhoods
Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in five L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Three neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Porter Ranch (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.2 over the last three months.
Toluca Lake (D) topped the list of two neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded eight property crimes compared with its weekly average of 3.8 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Dec. 23–Dec. 29, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
