Body found in burning car on 10 Freeway onramp in Pomona

January 27, 2012 |  7:43 am

Pomona homicide detectives were on an onramp Friday morning of the 10 Freeway, investigating the discovery of a body inside a burned-out car.

The California Highway Patrol received a call at 10:01 p.m. Thursday, reporting a car on the side of the road on the South Campus Drive onramp to the eastbound 10 Freeway.

Moments after the car was reported, the vehicle was engulfed in flames, police said. Los Angeles County firefighters doused the fire and a body was found inside the car.

Pomona police Lt. Eddie Vazquez said detectives and coroner investigators were at the scene, but they are “way, way early into” the investigation.

“We have no idea who this is or how they died,” Vazquez said.
