Man burned in house fire in Silver Lake

A 27-year-old man was taken to a local hospital after suffering "significant burns" in a house fire in the Silver Lake area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The man was listed in critical condition but was expected to survive, Fire Department spokesman Matt Spence said.

Firefighters responded around 4:30 p.m. to a report of a house fire in the 2800 block of West Berkeley Avenue. It took 28 firefighters to douse the flames.
