Woman's body found in rental car
Los Angeles police detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose partially nude body was found early Friday in the back of a rental car in South L.A.
LAPD Sgt. Carlton Brown said the the body of the woman, described as appearing to be in her mid-30s to early 40s, was found in a Jefferson Park alley at around 1 a.m. by a car rental agency employee. Brown said the small "mom and pop" rental company had received an anonymous tip with directions for finding the car, a silver Suzuki.
"So a representative from the rental company inspected the car, and once he saw the body, called police," Brown said, adding that the anonymous caller was considered a "person of interest" in the case.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
