Man says he was tortured with fork and hammer
San Luis Obispo County authorities are investigating claims by a man who said he escaped a house last week where two men held him for days and tortured him with a hammer and fork.
The man told San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies Friday that he had escaped the house in the community of California Valley, according to a sheriff’s report. He was later hospitalized for his injuries.
Early Saturday, deputies arrested Phillip Clyde Williams when he returned to the house in question, according to the report.
Another suspect, Daniel Andrew Zeller, 42, was arrested Saturday afternoon in California Valley, in eastern San Luis Obispo County. He was booked for investigation of torture, among other crimes, according to jail records.
Investigators did not say why the man was allegedly kidnapped and tortured or how the fork and hammer were used on him.
