Grandmother drove drunk with grandsons in car, police say
A 55-year-old grandmother has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk with her three grandchildren, one of whom fell out of the car while it was moving.
Marie Shipley, of Lancaster, was booked on felony drunk-driving charges and released, according to a report from the L.A. County Sheriff’s parks bureau.
Shipley had been driving Monday afternoon with three grandsons, ages 7, 11, and 13, in Apollo Park in Lancaster, according to the report.
She stopped when she heard the boy cry and took them all home.
Her daughter took the boy to the hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, according to the report, and deputies arrested Shipley.
