Power outage forces Amtrak to cancel O.C. trains to San Diego

The huge power outage has forced Amtrak to cancel two trains that run through southern Orange County and into San Diego County, officials said.

Officials decided to shut down service on Amtrak trains 592 and 796 because power problems triggered by the blackout.

Officials with Metrolink said the transit agency's 608 train would accept tickets from the cancelled Amtrak lines.

The blackouts have triggered widespread problems for Southern California commuters who were struggling to navigate gridlocked roadways where signals were not working.
