A flash-flood warning was issued Tuesday afternoon for Los Angeles County as forecasters warned of possible pockets of rain and thunder showers.

Earlier in the day, officials issued a similar alert  warning of hail, thunderstorms and possible lightning in Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The greatest chance of severe weather is in desert and inland valley areas, but officials said showers are also possible along the Orange and San Diego county coastal areas.

The flash flood warning extends through 6:30 p.m.
