Autopsy pending for inmate who died in L.A. jail [Updated]

An autopsy is pending on the body of a inmate who died after becoming ill at the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.

Sarin Nhem, 28, of Long Beach, was arrested in Long Beach on Tuesday for undisclosed reasons and transferred to the jail on Thursday, authorities said. He became ill and was taken to County-USC Medical Center where he died. [Updated at 9:29 a.m.: Nhem died Thursday night.]
