Ronald Reagan statue to be placed in Orange County park

Reaganstatue A statue of President Ronald Reagan made by a local artist will be erected this year in a Newport Beach park.

The depiction of the 40th president is now in the waxing process, the Daily Pilot reported.

After the wax mold is made, it will be cast in bronze. It is to be dedicated at Bonita Canyon Sports Park by the end of the year, the centennial year of Reagan's birth. Reagan died in 2004 at 93.

The statue was created by Newport Beach artist Miriam Baker.
