Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in nine L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Seven neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Chinatown (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.9 over the last three months.

Sawtelle (H) topped the list of three neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 26 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 18.8 over the last three months.

One neighborhood triggered alerts for both violent and property crime.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for June 30–July 6, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
