Woman killed, man injured in Pacoima house fire

A woman died and a man suffered lacerations and smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out in a home in Pacoima on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire began shortly before 4 p.m. at a house in the 11600 block of Bromont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

The woman was found dead inside the home. The man was treated for injuries suffered while apparently trying to battle the flames, authorities said.

The identity of the woman not released pending notification of next of kin. No firefighters were injured in the fire.
