LAPD reviews video of Giants fan Bryan Stow being confronted inside Dodger Stadium

June 27, 2011 | 11:44 am

Los Angeles police detectives investigating the assault of San Francisco Giants fan Brian Stow are examining a video posted by TMZ.com showing Stow being confronted by a Dodgers fan inside the stadium as he is watching the game.

In the video snippet, purportedly taken in the hours before the attack, Stow can be seen seated during the March 31 game at Dodger Stadium trying to ignore the seemingly angry Dodgers fan.

The fan is dressed in a blue Dodgers shirt with Banda 23 on the back. Robbery-homicide detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department had not seen the video before but do believe it is Stow who is seated, according to law enforcement sources.

It will now be examined along with hundreds of hours of security video from the stadium camera system.

The man who confronts Stow, a 42-year-old father of two from Santa Cruz, does not appear to be Giovanni Ramirez, 31, who L.A. Police Chief Charlie Beck has identified as the primary suspect in the assault that left the victim in a coma with brain damage.

Ramirez through his lawyers has claimed to have an alibi proving he was not at the game. He has not been charged in connection with the attack.

Ramirez, who was arrested last month, was sent back to prison last week on a parole violation, for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Stow was attacked by two men in the stadium parking lot after the opening day game.

The assailants punched and kicked Stow after knocking him to the ground. The pair then fled in a car that was driven by a woman who was accompanied by a child believed to be about 10 years old.

Authorities believe the woman was wearing an Andre Ethier Dodgers shirt.
