Woman fatally stabbed, man wounded in Palmdale

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman and the wounding of a man in Palmdale early Thursday.

The incident occurred shortly after 12.30 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Avenue Q-12, according to a Sheriff's Department spokesman.

The woman, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The other victim was transported to a local hospital. The severity of his injuries was not known.

No further details were available about the incident, authorities said.
