April 9, 2011 | 11:01 am

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies shot and killed an armed man in Palmdale Friday night, after he ignored orders to drop his weapon, authorities said.

Deputies arrived at the 200 block of East Avenue R in Palmdale to respond to a “man with a gun” call. They found the suspect at the scene and ordered him to put his gun down, but the man didn’t comply, authorities said. He was shot and hit “multiple times” then taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. No deputies were injured.

Sheriff’s officials said the man’s weapon was recovered. His name has not yet been released to the public.

Like all officer-involved shootings, the incident is under investigation.
