A 32-year-old Pee-wee league football coach in San Diego was arrested Saturday on suspicion of felony battery after a confrontation with the father of a player.

Police said the coach, Saivaauli Savaiinea, punched and kicked Mark Cannon, 32, on a playing field in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Cannon fell to the ground and hit his head on concrete. He lost consciousness and was taken to a trauma center with head injuries. Police did not have information about his condition Saturday night.

Savaiinea was booked into county jail. Pee-wee football teams are for players 9, 10 and 11 years old, and smaller 12 year-olds.
