An Orange County man was convicted Thursday of raping three women he met through a website called MillionaireMatch.com, authorities said.

Joseph Raymond Garcia, 51, who lives in Irvine, created a personal profile claiming that he made more than $200,000 a year and described himself as "sophisticated, charming" and "strikingly handsome," according to the Orange County district attorney's office.

Garcia was charged with raping the three women between March 2005 and October 2006. The victims were 22 years old to 42 years old.

Prosecutors alleged that the rapes took place in Garcia's apartment after he had gone on dates with the women. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 20 at the Santa Ana courthouse.
