Crime alerts for West Adams, Playa del Rey and 12 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 14 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.

Ten neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. West Adams (A) was the most unusual, recording 12 reports compared with a weekly average of 2.9 over the last three months.

Playa del Rey (K) topped the list of four neighborhoods with property-crime alerts. It recorded nine property crimes compared with its weekly average of 3.0 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for April 1–April 7, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
