Crime alerts for Canoga Park, Cheviot Hills and 11 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 13 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Six neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Canoga Park (A) was the most unusual, recording 13 reports compared with a weekly average of 3.3 over the last three months.

Cheviot Hills (G) topped the list of seven neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded eight property crimes compared with its weekly average of 3.2 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for March 17–March 23, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
