Crime alerts for Carthay, Montecito Heights and 10 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 12 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Eleven neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Carthay (A) recorded three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.2 over the last three months.

Montecito Heights (L) was the lone neighborhood with a property-crime alert. It recorded six property crimes compared with its weekly average of 3.2 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for March 5–March 11, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
