A poster on a Madrid street shows Austin Taylor Bice. A candlelight vigil is set for Monday night at San Diego State for an exchange student missing in Spain since Feb. 26.

Austin Taylor Bice, 22, an international business major at San Diego State, began a semester in Madrid on Jan. 15. He had gone drinking with friends the night he disappeared, according to accounts in the Spanish press.

Bice grew up in Northern California and Carlsbad, where he graduated from high school. His father arrived in Spain last week to aid in the search.

"This has devastated my family more than I can express," Bice's mother, Pamela Bice, told the Sacramento Bee.

The vigil, organized by the Agape House, a Christian student organization, is set from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Aztec Center Free Speech Steps on campus.
